Hey there and welcome to my happy place! My name is Shae Memmott, the home chef behind Shae Makes. I always tell people that food is my love language and it?s the truth. I love to show people I love them by making them delicious food. Nothing brings people together more than good food. My love for food and cooking started at a very young age. I grew up in the restaurant business. My family owns a couple diners in town and I started working there at the ripe age of 12. My dad, who owns the restaurant, has cooked there my entire life and my grandpa owned and cooked there before him so I guess you could say that cooking is in my blood.
I remember as a little girl, being enamored while watching my grandma labor in the kitchen making Sunday dinner from scratch. I didn’t understand then that her example would be part of what cultivated my love for from scratch cooking, and showering the people I love through yummy food just like she has her whole life.
My goal here at Shae Makes is to provide delicious from scratch recipes from my kitchen to yours and to do so in a user-friendly, non-intimidating manner. Here you?ll find step by step instructions on how to make mouth watering food in your own kitchen. We’ll make everything from chocolate cake all the way up to braised beef short ribs.

When I?m not in the kitchen cooking I?m either enjoying time with my husband Zack, my son Oaks (4 yrs), my daughter Quinney (21 months) and our Chesapeake Bay Retriever Riot. You can find me at CrossFit everyday lifting heavy weights and in the summers, working in my garden.
