Whipped Honey Feta Dip

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

I was first introduced to whipped feta by Teagan at Half Baked Harvest. She has a wide variety of delicious dishes incorporating whipped feta cheese. I didn’t even know you could whip feta cheese until I tried one of her recipes and let me tell you, it was a GAME CHANGER. I was already a big feta fan but there’s something about whipping it in the food processor that turns it into this creamy, salty and delicious mouthful of goodness.

I have taken this dish to two separate parties and both times, people have absolutely raved over it. It was the first appetizer gone at both parties and I had multiple people asking me for the recipe. The best part about it is how simple and easy it is. It comes together in less than 10 minutes and is virtually hassle free. Give it a try for your next party or outdoor barbecue and you won’t be dissapointed!

Tips & Tricks:

  • You can make this dish ahead of time and keep it in the fridge but don’t add the honey, nuts and chives until just before serving.
  • You can substitute any nut of your choosing but my favorites are walnuts or pecans.
  • Serve this dip with fresh grilled pita bread and loads of fresh veggies or if you are short on time, grab a bag of pita chips instead!

Description

Whipped feta with cream cheese and honey. This simple but amazing appetizer is always the talk of the party. I have never left with leftovers and it is always the first appetizer demolished. Your friends will most definitely be asking you for the recipe. Serve with fresh grilled pita bread and veggies for the perfect summer appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz crumbled feta cheese
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 medium sized garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped chives
  • Grilled pita bread and fresh veggies for serving

Instructions

  1. In a food processor add feta, cream cheese and olive oil and mix on high until the mixture is completely smooth. About 2 minutes.
  2. Add basil and garlic and mix on high again for about 30 seconds.
  3. Spread the cheese mixture evenly into the bottom of a medium sized shallow bowl or dish.
  4. Drizzle the honey evenly all over the top of the cheese mixture.
  5. Sprinkle the top evenly with chopped nuts and chives.
  6. Serve with warm slices of grilled or toasted pita bread and fresh veggies.
